Global Finolex

"When I think back, a strange feeling comes over me. We did not know the location. We did not know the product. When we began importing PVC, we only knew it was some kind of powder. We knew nothing about technology, had no money in our pockets. And there we were, talking and thinking of hundreds of thousands of crores! Certain thoughts and feelings had come to me. Opportunities arose through people I met. Decisions were taken. I felt that the land itself was calling me. More than ever, I feel that I was only the medium. None of this was MY creation."

In the early nineties, Finolex took a large step into a new league, multiplying its asset value nearly one hundred times with one move. How did this happen? What were the consequences to the Chhabria family? How did they deal with all these changes? And how is all this linked with the company's growth plans for the future? Read the answers to all this, and more, in this chapter.
